OUR FOUNDER

Danny

I have gained a depth and breadth of experience within football and cricket since 2008 and have been a CEO / MD for 7+ years.

During that time, I really have (I think!) seen all that can be seen, the emotions of sport, the daily financial constraints that football outside the elite currently gives and everything else in between!

I pride myself on being able to identify problems, mitigate risk, I have a natural strategic and problem-solving mindset and identifying processes, operations and tactics to help reach the goal.

My approach and bedrock of my career success

has been based on 6 core leadership principles:

  • 1. Communication

I pride myself on installing excellent and mutually rewarding internal and external stakeholder relationships. I ensure especially that staff members enter into regular two-way dialogue with each other and with senior staff. Their input into strategy, into operational plans and potential modifications underpin success. To be heard and listened too goes a long way in staff members and stakeholders to feel engaged, valued and energised to contribute to success.

  • 2. People

The development of individuals and teams is a core leadership ingredient for me. I am naturally people centric; I take time to listen to any problems they may have in and out of work that I / others can help support them with. I encourage my clients to install empathy and compassion into developing people. We live in a world where mental health is often ‘tucked away’ and rarely openly discussed. As a Mental Health Ambassador I am able to provide workshops for staff members to become aware of the spectrum of mental-health illnesses.

  • 3. Innovation

‘if we stand still, the competition wave as they fly past’ some wise person once said (OK I may have made that up!). With my clients I seek to embrace and where needed install a culture of innovative thoughts. That may not be creating the next rocket to go to the moon but ensuring relevant technological advancements are installed and utilised within a business. On a practical point that could include: use of like-minded influencers and content creators, digital marketing including SEO, Google Ad Network, CRM, online fundraising tools etc.

  • 4. Collaboration

To achieve success you have to row in the same, and the right direction. I work with my clients to install processes and working practices that install collaboration between colleagues, between departments and between stakeholders. I ensure everyone knows the definition of individual, department and organisation success and a truly united collaborative approach being critical to that.

  • 5. Measurement

Since University I stole the phrase from my Marketing Lecturer and it has stood more than the test of time ‘If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it’. With my clients at every opportunity possible, at every customer / client touchpoint, to current, lapsed or perspective clients I install measurement tools that focus minds. Yes we make sure they are SMART measurement tools but above all else bespoke to my your requirements, to your industry and to your challenges.

  • 6. Culture

It’s last but most important. I have been fortunate to work with some amazing leaders who have installed in me the power of culture. One of the very best books I have read is that of my former Chairman at Leyton Orient, Nigel Travis, his Challenge Culture book opened my eyes to installing a culture where colleagues and stakeholders are openly encouraged to challenge the norm (constructively). I use my amassed experiences of helping to develop and build a culture of elite-performance, where everyone knows their contribution impact, where there is no toxic ‘gossip culture’, where staff members have empathy, true appreciation of each other and a collective desire to succeed together.
